President Matthew J Coughlin

  • Communicates the administration’s point of view to the student body – often initial contact for student governance for other governing bodies and administrators on campus

  • Holds weekly Senior Staff meetings to discuss updates and projects. 
  • Meets weekly with Student Government Moderator (AVP/Dean of Students) to discuss Student Government activities and initiatives 
  • Meets as needed with the VP for Student Formation & Campus Life to discuss recent resolutions and policy coming from Senate 
  • Meets as needed with the Coordinator of Clubs and Organizations to discuss events and expenditures for the week 
  • Advises Vice President on committee appointments, Senate initiatives, and other Senate related activities. 
  • Schedules, along with the Vice President, semesterly one-on-ones with Student Senators 
  • Assists with the development of retreats and trainings for student senators

  • Meets with potential groups for club and organizations charters 
  • Holds weekly meetings with Committee Chairs to discuss updates and committee projects.

Chief of Staff Kimberly Barr

  • Serves as Senate Parliamentarian by ensuring the Constitution, By-Laws, and Roberts Rules of Order are followed in each Senate meeting 
  • Coordinates the Senior Staff o Schedules and coordinates weekly Senior Staff meetings o Manages all day to day affairs of the Senior Staff, including but not limited to ensuring staff attend office hours and are completing tasks on time

Executive Treasurer Paige Nonnenmacher

  • Approves Student Government expenditures, provides direction on financial projections and articulates spending parameters 
  • Oversees the budgeting process, including club allocation meetings, for the clubs with the aid of the Allocations Committee 
  • Meets daily with Coordinator of Clubs and Organizations to discuss club and organization activities and expenditures 
  • Meets with club leaders regularly including semesterly meetings regarding budgeting processes and club responsibilities related to use of student activity fee funds 
  • Advises the Appropriations Committee with regard to clubs and organizations requests for Appeals, New Initiative Funding (NIF) and Special Initiative Funding (SIF) 
  • Ensures spending request by all clubs and organizations is consistent with individual club allocations 
  • Provides weekly updates to the President, Vice President, and Moderator on club, organization, and Student Senate spending

Director of Technology John Prendergast

  • Updates Student Government website and RoyalSync portal on a weekly basis, working closely with the Director of Communications and Chief of Staff to ensure that SG web presence and social media reflects current SG priorities and initiatives. 
  • Coordinates elections on RoyalSync 
  • Maintains information resources of the Office of Student Government, including but not limited to computers, RoyalDrive, printers, databases, e-forms, and surveys. 
  • Provides information technology services to Student Senate 
  • Creates & assists with creating surveys through RoyalSync to poll the student body on matters pertinent to concerns of the Senate 
  • Manages online sign-ups through RoyalSync (eg. Street Sweep registration) 
  • Serves as student liaison and advocate with University offices on matters relating to student technology use. 
  • Meets monthly with Coordinator of Clubs and Organizations/SG 
  • Along with the Director of Communications, distributes monthly Student Government and Club newsletter

Executive Secretary Marlene Geerinck

  • Reports directly to the Chief of Staff
  • Keeps and organizes minutes at Student Government Senate meetings and submits minutes within one week of the meeting to the Vice President. 
  • Maintains and submits an up-to-date list of staff and senators to the Clubs and Organizations office which includes: name, R#, email address, cell phone #. This must be received by the clubs and organizations office before the first SG Senate meeting of the academic year. 
  • Maintains a running list of Senate attendance at meetings and events 
  • Coordinate and assign Senators to events on campus. I.e. Tables sits for open house, club fairs, etc. 
  • Meets with the Coordinator of Clubs and Organizations on an as-needed basis to ensure proper event preparation (verify work orders, room assignments, etc.) 
  • Updates names on Student Government mailboxes 
  • Submits orders for office supplies 
  • Updates Student Government bulletin board in Student Forum
